If my kid is sad that she cannot have an extra granola bar, that does not imply that I am wrong to deny her, or even that she thinks I am wrong, it just means she wishes she could have one.

Sure, but this whole forum is more like your kid going on Twitter and yapping "I can't have an extra granola bar? That's SO SAD! Unfair!" I'm just saying that it's not only about feeling an emotion, there's lots of extra implications to it and most of them are not very good.
