Difference between alerts and notiifcations in UI design (component wise) Posted by Charz1 on Thursday June 12, 2025 @04:08AM from the self-post dept. In UI design, what is the difference between a notification and an alert? OR Is a notification an alert? (or vice versa) ( 1 comment | on HN )
UI Component Names can be quite fluid.
Shopify Polaris Design System calls them "feedback indicators"
https://polaris-react.shopify.com/components/feedback-indica...
Carbon by IBM calls them notification https://carbondesignsystem.com/components/notification/usage...
You should read these two guides.
And try to find a common ground with your team.
