How do you suggest to fund citizen initiatives then? The only two things he’s guilty of is not being on the winners side, and facing an army if wokists.

I'm not suggestion anything. All I'm saying is that Brendan Eich wasn't pilloried for simply holding a heterodox opinion, but for his actions to enshrine it in the state constitution. Agree with it or not, that is categorically different from "thoughtcrime".
