It does look interesting, though I've also heard it described as "CS lite".

(Data science also sometimes gets the "CS lite" label, but Stanford's program looks like it might be somewhat technical and closer to scientific computation.)

The prestige of the degree seems to come more from the quality of the students that are admitted, than what is actually taught to them.
