My view is that modern advertising has become indistinct from stalking. I have no idea how we can fix this but the ad tech industry has shown a gross inability to self regulate.

Shun, ridicule and mock anyone who works in advertising. We do much the same to stalkers and while it doesn't eliminate them entirely, I have a hard time believing that you won't be deterred if you're considering starting to go into advertising and you are told in no uncertain terms this is only for bad people.

This is an industry where every willing participant should be treated as if they're an informer for a party that is hostile to you. Because they are.

Felony prison time and 100% compensation clawback for CEOs, execs, managers, and engineers who are conducting this type of illegal mass surveillance. Shut the companies down with 100% asset forfeiture, distributed to the victims.

This sort of thing should just be a felony, and you should not be able to get around it with consent.
