The usual pattern is to
overestimate short-term change and underestimate long-term change.
We're a year since this stuff really got popular, and so I think a thing that's happening right now is many people noticing the short-term changes were overestimated.

yes, exactly. There will be a lot of these types of articles in the next few years, some disappointments along the way, but deep and longlasting change in the tech sector and beyond is coming.
