I agree with a lot of it but it's weekly presented. The copyright thing is tangential to his main point, if it's going nowhere overall, the copyright implications are immaterial, it's just drawing flak as a big target right now.
Likewise, the rest of the OpenAI/sora thing doesn't support anything.
Sora is actually a great symbol for peak AI - it's nothing new or innovative, it's just trying to do "more" with the only thing we know how to do, throw more compute and data at a problem. Seeing improvements in an existing tech like LLMs would have been way more exciting. But he blew that for a few shots at the CTO and journalists.
There is some good stuff in the article, he's bang on about the failure of the present to ever catch up to imagined expectation for what the tech will do.
