While we might prefer typing and blogging, Deaf might post a video of themselves signing at full speed, without captions or transcript, which only another sign user might be able to follow. So you can see how the cultures might diverge a little.
For hearing people, the trend seems to have been younger generations are more into technology, so it's surprising to me that for deaf people it would be the opposite.
