The choice today is fascism or stagnation. Fairly awful choice. I am forced to pick the latter because I have friends who will be persecuted by the former, but they are both bad.

Edit: of course I’m being too charitable by assuming the fascists would not also lead to stagnation. They likely would, though perhaps in different ways.
