Correct. A fair amount of larger companies, grocery store chains, etc. in Eastern EU states are owned by German companies.

Grocery store chains aren't very relevant in this discussion.

I'm talking about stuff like Mercedes-Benz engine factory in Jawor, seats from Groclin, Michelin and Bridgestone tyre factories, or the fact that Poland is world's second biggest battery manufacturer (ahead of US) - all of that is used in German car manufacturing supply chain.
