A reminder that any discipline that needs to add the word “science” to it is not actually, in any way, a science. Also, a reminder that years ago, economists pressured the Nobel folks into adding economics as a prize category so as to desperately lend some credibility to these basic research papers.

A reminder that nobody except the Nobel memorial prize calls economics “economic science.”

Economists just call it economics. And you will most likely never meet an “Associate Professor of Economic Science” either.

Mh.. neuroscience has won a few medicine nobel prizes for what I would call quite groundbreaking fundamental research.
