The implicit subsidies to electric car companies could similar or even greater, as it appears that most of the microplastics come from car tires, as discussed recently[0]. The impact of electric cars could be quite big because they are significantly heavier and large part of the emissions attributable to a car come at the manufacturing stage anyway.
It’s also the whole global economy, so kind of hard to compare with Tesla Inc subsidies.

Not defending the fossil subsidies, just a poor comparison.
The comment:
>In my experience, people who talk a lot about maintaining or "breaking narratives" aren't doing so out of a position of intellectual honesty, they're doing so from an ideological position they'd like to promote. Do you have strong feelings about Musk as an individual? Do you think those feelings influence how you feel about Tesla as an operation? It's a tricky conversation to navigate, given that Musk is such a polarizing figure, often these discussions just end up being a fans/haters debate from which I think there's little to be gained.
my reply:
>I don't know about all those people you know but I think I clearly explained why I find this comparison poor.
Anyway, click my username and click "comments" and you can find my comments about and Tesla. My accounts is 11 years old, plenty of stuff there, obviously I changed my mind on many topics multiple times so don't hold assume that I necessarily believe the same thing I believed 5 years ago.
Just hours ago I defended some of his actions in managing Twitter, you can find positive, negative and wishful comments about musk. You can find negative comments on Tesla FSD and positive comments on Tesla's impact on the car industry, pushing it away from fossils.
Happy? How is your prejudice doing now?
