Some forms of feedback are fine of course, but common complaints such as "I applied and never heard back from you" can't be assessed properly without more information. I'm sure that some of those complaints are accurate (and certainly agree that companies should get back to job applicants—it's the least they can do); but I'm equally sure that some of those complaints are bogus. The problem is that there's no way to tell the two apart. The only thing that would sort-of work is an open community discussion to hash out what actually happened.

in the sense that they leave out salient details that would otherwise completely change the picture.

There are two sides to every story, and a Who Is Hiring thread isn't the place to hash it out.

When commenters post complaints about bad behavior, sometimes they're right and sometimes they're being misleading, e.g. by selecting only certain details to mention and leaving out other details that would completely change the picture. The only way that sort-of works to sift through what actually happened, so that readers could draw their own conclusion, is to have an open community discussion around it.
