Once again I think the industry has completely over tuned on "machine learning".

Every time this technologies come out, we leap at the idea that we will replace all the <insert most valuable job here>.

In reality, it serves to augment the job, and makes many more new types of jobs.

Look at machine vision. Many new types of jobs were created, and we are still chasing replacing drivers - and failing.

Idk about gone forever - Rome is a great example of a city that shows you the multiple layers built over each other, and makes great strides to inform the general public. same for AI AI imho - from vectors to consciousness, soup to nuts

i write latent space because i want to document the genuine engineering advancements in the space. ofc i am accused of being a shill sometimes because i do bias positive. but why live your life being so loudly cynical. no way to live.

Wow, I completely missed the news that OpenAI was on track to hit 1B ARR? That's ... huge? Enormous?

I totally get it though. We're likely to expand our usage further given how well our LLM feature has gone.

(author here) yeah and honestly i had them higher when i first made my initial estimate of ChatGPT paying user numbers + enterprise. i think its a monster and probably undervalued at a 29b valuation.
