How is it not an option? Just don't look at the thread, refrain from the temptation of reading whatever the people there are chatting on about you.

The people there will physically find you and insert themselves into your life in dangerous and unpleasant ways.

If that happens, it would be the fault of the individual doing that, not everyone else who is just sitting around gossiping and bitching.

Anyone who even has a passing familiarity with the site knows this is complete bull.

Anyone targeted by them gets hit with a nonstop torrent of direct abuse for months or years. They'll target family, friends, jobs, and it's not limited to online.

It's why (1) dox is encouraged and (2) they publish dox on the clearnet, to enable exactly this sort behavior.

If they were just a "gossip" site, there's no need to host dox.
