I haven't used recent technology, but I mostly associate VR games with motion sickness.

This is actually a reason 2D games can exclude women; they get motion sick more easily and nobody tunes the games for them!

Is there evidence for this?

As I made an existence statement, you can look up any female streamer/vtuber and hear them say they can't play an FPS today because they ran out of dramamine.

(I know like three.)

Most Games have comfort settings Like Teleportation, Fading etc. My wife gets motion sick pretty fast with VR, but reading a book while driving is no issue. It's rather strange to me

I find it really confusing that people call games 2D just because they're displayed in monoscopic instead of stereoscopic 3D.
