I'm having trouble coming up with a more spectacular physics experiment than orchestrating the first fission chain reaction.

It's so spectacular that it's put on 70 mm film 70 years later.

"the first fission chain reaction" would have been Fermi. Not trying to diminish him here but the first bomb was not the first chain reaction.
