So you've inspected the weights for backdoors?

I'm not sure about this one, but blue map is the thing dynmap wishes it was in its day and you should run it on your worlds.

Google meet screen sharing is a horrendous UX, reactions are clunkier than zoom, the tiling options are worse than zoom, and I have yet to see a conference room setup that actually works with HDMI inputs.

But yeah, other than that meet is fine.

Released to who? Workspace pro accounts are still on 3.1. Google's story isn't self consistent here.
Adding to the litany of feedback: your BOM parser and manager is a source of pain. For a few BOM items it's fine, but for 50+ with 500+ placements there it's a heavy human lift with a lot of human error that is ripe for automation. Also, DNP interpretation are large hazard for silent failures. The spreadsheet is gospel.
The biggest latency I feel is in getting through PMO and DFM. Shenzhen doesn't have this issue and neither does circuithub.
Are you considering any in-house fab capabilities? Are you considering accepting consigned fabbed boards?
More like South Africa. American values are very much against concentration of power. Something those concentrating power will be reminded of.

What is the codeword to trigger clandestine commands?
Yes, our mouths. What's interesting about this is that dogs make sounds very differently than humans.
What actions make Nathan and Amanda monstrous to you?
While far from a complete technical breakdown, Hank Green's recent video on Theranos is a good starting point. These are not serious people. The special sauce has never been the self promotion.

Personally, my longest and loudest complaint with steam is reliably putting a long hold on inputs when it starts up. If I launch steam on startup then I can't start doing anything else until it's done because it will jump on top of everything else when it feels like it. This is a particularly bad sin because this behavior is a way for credentials to leak.
Re:Passkeys Are Not a Trap on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:56AM (#50089695)
I use nextcloud to sync my own keepass database across my devices. Both nextcloud and keepassxc are open source.

Please explain how self hosting open source software is locking me into a vendor.

If the sky falls and strongbox ceases working with mac/iOS I can use android and linux. Nobody is locking my lockbox.

Re:Passkeys Are Not a Trap on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @11:37AM (#50089356)
Keepassxc and strongbox passkey integrations seem pretty good on all of the OSes and browsers I've used.

I think passkeys make a messy credential situation even messier, but make a tidy credential situation even tidier.

But at least the ministry of truth won't assign them re-education for thought crime.

In your experience have you noticed that multi hour games on the largest maps have a tendency to crash? Is this fixed in your project?
Re:OpenSCAD the Programmers Solid 3D CAD Modeller on Sunday October 11, 2026 @11:00AM (#50044019)
A terrible UI compared to no UI? OpenSCAD doesn't compete yet is treated like a competitor. Compare FreeCAD to NX and simply ignore OpenSCAD until it begins to become something other than a waste of time.
Re:OpenSCAD the Programmers Solid 3D CAD Modeller on Saturday October 10, 2026 @08:34PM (#50038548)
Why is there a carve out for parametric shapes? Freecad is a parametric CAD tool. OpenSCAD is just a worse version that has limited macro capability compared to build123d and can only ever export solid bodies with flat faces. Seriously, why does anyone talk about a CAD tool that cannot export curved surfaces?
If Flock is specifically for law enforcement then it is a cut and dry violation of the 4th amendment. Case closed.

However, they are simply commissioned by law enforcement and law enforcement are just one of any number of customers. There is either an expectation of privacy or there isn't. This case highlights this exactly.

Re:Testing 12 different Zigbee temperature/humidity sensors on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @06:27AM (#49976545)
The datasheet gives you the 3 sigma worst case for accuracy.

For power consumption a system power tree needs to be constructed and that will set the bounds that firmware can achieve. That would be better than trusting the manufacturer but a real test is best.

Re:Testing 12 different Zigbee temperature/humidity sensors on Tuesday October 06, 2026 @05:58AM (#49976327)
The datasheet gives you much better fidelity data than an N=1 test. You'll never know what the tolerance is if you're just looking at one unit. Presumably the average buyer cares if they expect the temperature sensor to be 5% off on the unit they buy. The accuracy of all of these sensors have ratings, but they are often just copying the value on one component and not even considering a stackup. Devils lie in details.
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Thursday October 01, 2026 @06:54AM (#49920126)
The name "universal high income" should be tipping you off to the issue with it. If money has less importance then what tools will individuals have to change their station? How will anyone other than the permanently entrenched rulers affect change? We don't have a good system now, but it seems like we're hell bent on making it even worse.
Re:Solving Factorio Quality on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @06:30AM (#49906910)
Honestly, this is the exact article I needed to finish my Space Age run. I finished Aquilio then started building quality plants on each planet but spent many hours iterating designs. The feedback loop was slow and it was really an exercise in banging rocks together. Basic spreadsheets fail at this mechanic, which is the beauty of it.
Re:ReBarUEFI: Resizable BAR for almost any UEFI system on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @07:38PM (#49809757)
It should come with a warning label. If you're in a scenario where VRAM is being maxed out and thrashing main memory then ReBAR will worsen the frequency and magnitude of the stutters. I ran into this with a 3070 (8 GB) recently.
I'm glad you're asking. If you notice no one has said, especially Zelda, that you can't do these things. Obviously you can. You have access to a computer. The question you should be asking is should you do these things?

Also, this a good list of false equivalences. Robin Williams, when public, was empathetic, emotional, and arguably humanist. His memory isn't a caricature from people who have never known him, as you would see from Star Trek holo-deck episodes featuring Leonardo Da Vanci. His memory is something that is deeply important to people who are living. Some of those people simply appreciated his art and his behavior. One of those people is his daughter. You don't get to say what is right or wrong here. No one's going to stop you if you want to make a video of Robin Williams taking the Siegfried Oath, but you should understand why it is wrong.

It's actually not the Streisand effect. The Streisand effect is about trying to smother a controversy and, in the process, breathing life into it.

Zelda is not exercising power or suppressing a controversy. This is just old fashioned dickheadedness. A generous interpretation would be juvenile trolling since they know their mark is vulnerable.

There's a few different ways to look at this.

1. You appreciate Robin Williams and were he here right now judging you for how you honor his memory, would he approve?

2. Robin Williams is not here, or anywhere, so then if he were would he approve of you bringing pain to someone he loved dearly? Why would you do that to Robin Williams?

3. Robin Williams is not here, or anywhere, so then nothing matters and I bet I could get some views.

It's difficult to see love in these acts when they seem to be fundamentally selfish. Not at all what Robin Williams would do.
