His overall summary was that he saved Twitter by firing unnecessary staff.
Everyone in Silicon Valley screeched that this was an evil move by an evil person, and that Twitter would immediately crash and burn without all those thousands of infinitely valuable developers and IT admins.
That was in October 2022, nearly 8 months ago. Twitter is still up, and hasn't imploded.
Anecdotally, due to Musk's support of extreme-right views (for example re-inviting Trump [2], supporting DeSantis [3], or protecting bullying [4]), many people have left in protest and so these views are over-represented on the site.
The word "decay" seems appropriate.
