If I read this correctly, 32-bit application code (ring 3) would remain mostly unaffected.

why would not be ? Not even title of article says anything even remotely suggesting it will go away. So you do not need to read it correctly, you just have to read it as is. What you are saying(thinking) has nothing to do with ISA being 64.

and we are in year 2023 so you and other people complaining about retro gaming and other totally absurd things, should just go to youtube/ google/ wikipedia and start learning about contemporary computers so people like you do not need technical support, even in these basic questions. We are not in 19 th century when did you have to go to library, you have library context switch away.

sorry for being harsh but it is quite annoying that people dont even know machines they are using.

select one word, press shift + ctrl and press arrow key. boom, unknown hi tech for 99% of workforce ! ridiculous.

Holy shit! Someone reiterated what they thought the article said and you go nuclear. Do you think this is even a remotely good way to comment?

They woke up and chose violence.

i do not mind they reiterated, i mind they read it and found nothing wrong with it . call your hitlers before it is too late.

question for both of you - does 32 bit register fit into 64 bit register ? if yes, then why you two both did not notice anything wrong with logic in article, in comment etc ?

As a matter of fact "64-Bit-Only" is in the title of the article. That sure sounds like they are dropping 32-bit support, does it not?

As the poster said, they are keeping 32-bit ring 3 support, contrary to the title of the article.
