The Warhol museum in his hometown of Pittsburgh is phenomenal.
There’s also a fantastic array of prints at Dia:Beacon that really conveys the impact of the mass production of image generation on society.
wow:
"The value of Andy Warhol's work has been on an endless upward trajectory since his death in 1987. In 2014, his works accumulated $569 million at auction, which accounted for more than a sixth of the global art market."
Also did you know Warhol was a devout Catholic? Despite his controversial artwork, Warhol was a devout Catholic who attended church regularly and often carried a rosary with him. He even established a foundation to support the preservation of Catholic church art and architecture.
He was also a prolific filmmaker! In addition to his artwork, Warhol also made more than 600 films over the course of his career.
