Well, guess which part pays the bills for the other one.

I was curious about this so I asked ChatGPT.

""" I can provide you with the revenue breakdown of Microsoft's segments for the fiscal year 2021, which ended on June 30, 2021.

Here is the revenue breakdown of Microsoft's segments for the fiscal year 2021:

Productivity and Business Processes: This segment includes Office, LinkedIn, Dynamics, and other productivity tools and services. In FY2021, the revenue for this segment was $53.7 billion.

Intelligent Cloud: This segment includes Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, GitHub, and other enterprise services. In FY2021, the revenue for this segment was $58.4 billion.

More Personal Computing: This segment includes Windows, Surface, Xbox, and other gaming and hardware products. In FY2021, the revenue for this segment was $53.6 billion. """

So actually Azure/cloud is about 1/3 of revenue, interestingly.

Except those numbers are…wrong? I mean, they’re not far off, but they’re not actually right either. You should probably never trust ChatGPT outright with facts.

From the horse’s mouth, https://www.microsoft.com/investor/reports/ar21/index.html:

Productivity and Business Processes: 53.9B (not 53.7)

Intelligent Cloud: 60.1B (not 58.4)

More Personal Computing: 54.1B (not 53.6)

Thanks. It's so weird that it spits almost-but-not-quite correct numbers.
