I’d ban photos, pictures, video and sound. Leave text only. Greatly reduces deepfake potential, manipulation options by state actors, dopamine hits from looking at pretty cat pictures too.

I don’t want to say IRC was fine but it was better than Instagram.

But text is dangerous too!

I used to stay up all night reading books under my covers with a flashlight.

When I'd get caught my parents would take my books away.

The idea that we're going to ban things that people really want and control behavior is laughable.

How many times has that worked in human history? Did anyone have trouble finding alcohol at high school parties as a teenager?
