In general it seems like the things that have actually ended up changing the world significantly in my lifetime seemed insignificant when they were first introduced. The first time I was on the internet it seemed novel, but unimportant. When I created my first social media account, it was interesting, playful, and not going to change the world. The iPhone was a joke, who would want a phone that big?

The simple fact that people are predicting that GPT will somehow change the world makes me doubt its actual value.

Those are your personal reactions, but those were not common reactions at the time. In the early 1990s I was telling people the Internet was amazing and showing it off to them. Social media was a huge deal starting with SixDegrees. The iPhone was incredibly hyped at the time.

I think ChatGPT is worth doubting, but I think your examples need some work.
