It’s probably healthy to have some vitriol directed at Safari. I tried to imagine a similar piece written about Chrome to make sure I wasn’t disliking this piece just because I use Apple products, and I realized I don’t need to imagine - they exist, I’ve read them. Sure, the complaints are a little different, it’s about leading the standards body by the nose and trying to turn the browser into an operating system because then Google would have an operating system with deeply pervasive ad tracking built in and already accepted by most users. This is just what it looks like to hold the other perspective on the matter.
