Someone who co-founded a company that literally became the verb for “search for shit on the entire internet” and helped connect billions of customers with tens of millions of companies could easily have created a significant multiple of that value for the world (literally well over a trillion dollars of value that Google has created) and kept a fraction of that value created for themselves. I don’t see the grave injustice in that part of the story.

If others are capable to create a trillion dollars of value, I want them to be enjoy a significant share of that.

What part of that value helped someone who is homeless?

Hundreds of thousands of Google employees who aren't homeless.

Millions of people who make a living with AdSense, preventing them from becoming homeless.

Millions more who make a living consulting on SEO, optimizing ad campaigns who aren't homeless.

Millions more whose businesses were helped to succeed by Google search and ads, preventing them and their employees from becoming homeless.

If they want to search for services or help at the library (or maybe on their Android phone), Google can help with that.

It's not clear to me, in a hedonic treadmill sense, that someone with a net value of $100B is meaningfully enjoying any amount of money past, say, the first billion.

The cool thing about property rights is that when you legally obtain something it belongs to you and you don't have to justify your ownership of it to random strangers in order to continue owning it.

I don't see where the GP mentioned property rights. Besides, taxation of property is not a particularly novel concept.

Very little of Sergey's wealth is legal, we just suck at enforcing the law against people who grease the right pockets. Google is currently embroiled in multiple dozens of legal procedures about their various not legal behaviors, all of which entail things that have been illegal longer than Google has been doing them.

Google as a company operates entirely by abusing human rights. Sergey Brin in particular is a particularly awful person, known for things like stating "the point" of hiring female employees was f***ing them.

I think we should take at least $99 billion of his $100 billion and do something decent with it to offset the fact that we have to deal with him.
