Feng Shui is just badly translated by Westerners. It’s not some magical art, it’s another case of Chinese confusing people. Consider how Organic Nomenclature (chemical naming) is done in Chinese. Chemicals like “azulene” are named in such a way that the literal translation is “mysterious wild grapes” when the practical meaning is just “azulene” in that context.

Feng Shui is /NOT/ “magical home energy power”

It’s better translated as “interior design with consideration to aesthetics”.

Shocked so many people don’t understand this.

When lots of practitioners in the West are of the "magical home energy" kind, does it make any difference what the Chinese term really means?

If in Chinese it just means the equivalent of "interior design", who here would object? There's no mystical implications, and everyone everywhere agrees interior design experts can have good advice (and are also capable of outrageous misses and dumb advice as well).

In the West, calling it Feng Shui has implications. Bear in mind it was brought up in a discussion of Tarot, so let's not be disingenuous and pretend there's no undercurrent of the mystical here.

I’m in agreement with you. But what I am saying is that the practice itself is fairly normal and has been turned into something far beyond what it ever was.

I think many people in the West just have brain damage.
