It's an easy thing for them to organize around, just like protests over COVID lockdowns and mask wearing. The useful idiots continue to obsess over the surface issues long after they've ceased to be relevant, the political agitators move on to some new pain point and organize protests around that, increasing the size of the pool each time.

And there's a lot of such activity. Have a look at this protest from Columbus, OH yesterday. There's three distinct right wing groups that decided to coordinate around it - Patriot Front (younger guys who like marching and uniforms), Proud Boys (party animals who like fist fights), and some local militia in camo and carrying rifles even though they stick out like a sore thumb in an urban setting. Protesting the event is sort of fun for them, but the more important activity is the networking and coordination practice.
