The written statement doesn’t even address that BLM riots would be correlated with an increase in shoplifting. Being a state with more or less shoplifting is irrelevant - it’s a relative comparison of amount of shoplifting in one place, both before Floyd and after.

Where do they explain that the trend doesn't exist? They make no statement that applies over time.
