There is enough blame to go around here that every party involved in this debacle should be ridden out of town on a rail.

Per TFA the person who called the cops verified the kid lived half a mile away and still called. If that behavior doesn't fit the stereotype to a tee what does?

If comfortably middle class types weren't so predisposed to try and use the state's enforcers as a one size fits all solution to everything the chain of events leading up to these kinds of bad outcomes would be broken in a huge fraction of cases. And to be really F-ing blunt the HN demographics really need a mirror when it comes to this crap because we are prime offenders.

After god knows how many years of scrutiny for bad shoots and absurd escalations you'd think people would think twice about adding tops to a situation where violence wasn't the answer.

I'm not saying that every other party didn't fail but just because the police and DA didn't do their jobs properly doesn't absolve the person that initiated it from blame.
