Not the very first time but I haven’t read enough, nor met him in real life to understand what kind of character he is.

Some of the claims seem so bombastic that it’s difficult to believe anyone sane fully believes in them unironically.

Right, like I said. Thanks for finding that comment, it definitely shows a trend of bombastic writing.

Maybe he only uses this style for some portion, and I just happened to read only them.

Because while I agree with what you have to say, I denounce the way you have said it, and the lack of any substance you have provided in your point, which somehow are less than that is present in the writings of Doctorow.
