Can't quite wrap my mind around this kind of spending. I mean AMD came up with Ryzen and RDNA with much smaller R&D budget, and sillicon was hard af to do. What were they doing with this amount of money?

Amd has been making cpus for 50 years. Ryzen was just another one.

And Rivian's market cap is $30B. Meta could easily bought another EV company to diversify.
With the amount of R&D that was spent on Metaverse, it better shit gold for Meta for decades to come.
