many plant-based meals are ultra-processed and contrary to popular belief very unhealthy. Almost all foods, aside from fresh fruit and raw vegetables, undergo some degree of process. ultra-high processed foods are mostly low in protein and fibre, and high in salt, sugar and fat, and have undergone industrial interventions such as extrusion, moulding and milling. There is very clear observational data showing that people who have higher intakes of ultra-processed foods have higher levels of ill-health, whether it be cancer, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, obesity or type 2 diabetes.

This is a narrative that has been pushed by the pro-meat lobby. Check. The relationship between the “center for consumer freedom” org and Richard Berman. Who is this man? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Berman_(lawyer)

Are you arguing that plant-based burgers aren't ultra-processed?

I’m arguing that they’re better than pink-slime filled antibiotic-ladden fecal-matter contaminated meat burgers, for your body, for the environment and for the animals. Ultra processed foods are worst than whole foods, adding the “plant based” makes it look like vegan- vegetarian food is less healthy than their animal derived counterpart in general when actually the opposite is true.
