It is a little ironic that Steve had camped outside a store and was basically ignored by Apple to buy an iPhone 4S and was captured by a legion of Google admirers when trying to buy a Galaxy Nexus. People of Apple, this is Woz. Atleast let the man go in and take a picture, for gods sake.

I remember hearing him say in an interview, if he wanted the device early Apple would've gave it to him, but he wanted to queue up at an Apple store on launch day because it was more exciting that way.

I think he prefers it that way. Plus, it gives people the chance to interact with him in the lines.

I don't think he was ignored by Apple, I think he does that more to rally the fans. He said he did not have to wait in line to get the phone.
