And if Jobs cured his cancer they would be saying how much of a smart man he was to try this alternative cure.

It's easy to pretent you have 20/20 hindsight on other peoples lives.

Not really. "Spontaneous remission is rare but it happens, lucky man!" would be the far more likely response.
