One person can't manage everything. In a democratic country you need a lot of people to mobilize from a different direction.

The former guy fundamentally changed the nature of the judiciary.

That's going to have tremendous effects throughout the country for decades.

Not to mention the negative impact that's going to have on the world over the same timeframe.

Those issues aren't "sudden", protest were also outside of the US.
