I searched DuckDuckGo for “how to build an alu” (or “Arithmetic Logic Unit”), here’s one: - http://www.csc.villanova.edu/~mdamian/Past/csc2400fa13/assig...

Further, in searching for the exact FPGA I’m finding it very daunting! - The kind I used is a Xilinx, which came as the chip and a PCB which I had to solder together. Worked great, it’s programmed over a Micro-USB from within the software. - Here is the model of Intel Max 10 FPGA My old Digital Logic class is using today: 10M02SCU169C8G. - The software is called Quartus, and here it seems to be on Intel’s website: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/software/programmabl... - Thanks to My alma mater University of Florida, and Dr. Schwartz, for this information: https://mil.ufl.edu/3701/docs/quartus/quartus_18.1_tutorial...., who I don’t think would mind you learning from it! Follow the rest of the class here: https://mil.ufl.edu/3701/.

Good luck!
