It really isn't.

Most on the far right are very very very pro-Israel.

Because of Dominionist Christian theology, yes. Not because of any love or respect for Judaism or ethnic Jews.

The Bible tells all of us as Christians to respect Jews as the Chosen People in the Old Covenant with God (HaShem), which indeed remains fully valid as to them-- and Judaism as the way they've chosen to worship Him. This is absolutely scriptural, and valid theology. By definition, people who don't love and respect Jews are falling far short of genuine Christianity.

Being "pro-Israel" doesn't necessarily preclude antisemitism. Lots of weird mental gymnastics going on with some folks.

E.g. Trump who according to himself is a bigger friend of Israel than Jews living in America are, while at the same time using the Star of David to label political opponents as corrupt, feeding antisemitic cliches by claiming various media is controlled by Jews, suggesting American Jews are disloyal because they serve Israel first, ...

Majorie Taylor Greene also finds time to blame anti-Israel positions for violence against Jews - inbetween her bullshit about Jews running everything and plotting evil things.

Then there's the entire thing with the Evangelical Zionists, where the origin is the belief they need to support Israel for theological reasons - but not necessarily to support Jewish people (especially not those outside Israel), but as a tool.

To a degree probably also geopolitics: it makes sense to support Israel if you hate their opponents (Arab Muslims) even more.

Not so, at all.

There is a lot of support for Israel among evangelical conservatives because they think it ties into Biblical prophecy, but that's not the same thing. And if you think the 'far right' (going by the usual meaning of people out at the extreme, often outside the boundaries of electoral politics) are pro Israel then I have to say you've never talked to any 'far right' people and do not know much about the contemporary political landscape.

Re:Utah tech executive resigns after anti-semitic email rant by mullingitover on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @08:28PM (#29803718)
The far right is a pretty splintered group, and when you look even a little to the right of principled centrists you quickly get into serious horseshoe political theory territory. The 'Bush republicans' are very pro-Israel, but the 'election was stolen, covid is a conspiracy' post-Trump republicans aren't from that generation and aren't nearly as rational.

The Trumpists are actually among the most pro-Israel, but it's mostly an "owning the libs" thing, not out of any actual love of Jews.

Other than, you know, his daughter? Who is Jewish? Or do you imagine he doesn't love his daughter?

His daughter is about as Jewish as ... never mind.

Your're missing the distinction between Trump and Trump supporters.

Please cease with the petty tribal idealistic mud slinging.

How can you possibly suppose to quantify this statement?
Re:Utah tech executive resigns after anti-semitic email rant by TylerE on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @09:21PM (#29804168)
Trump declared himself the most pro-Israel president in american history. That seems pretty definitive.
Re:Utah tech executive resigns after anti-semitic email rant by andrew_ on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @09:40PM (#29804340)
You claimed that "Trumpists" in general, in totality, are only pro-Isreal because it's an "owning the libs" thing. You have zero metrics or sources to back that up. You cannot claim to know the mind of every person who supports Trump. This tribalism has fucking brainwashed people. It's maddening.

citation needed on this. most far right conspiracy theories are antisemitic because they're rooted in white supremacy. "jews will not replace us," qanon, etc.

Will you please stop lumping vast groups of people together as if they share a hive mind? That's like saying every Democrat on the planet lives their lives by the tenets of the 1619 project. It's ridiculous.
