The article doesn't mention it, but Japan has concepts of how much things cost that don't really change, and their "price of video games" has been pretty consistently around 78,000円 for the past few decades.

It looks like Square Enix has decided to standardize that across markets. I don't know much about the modern FF franchise (or SE), but are there any microtransactions, loot boxes, or pay to win aspects?
