Has anyone suggested reducing the amount of credit available? That won't increase the number of houses, but people compete on how much they can pay, and if they can pay less houses will cost less.

That would make homes cheaper, but not more affordable. Since the money to buy homes becomes more expensive you end up with about the same monthly cost.

So which is it, are homes more expensive now or not?

Interest rates have gone from 10% to 2.5% and housing prices went up - it’s the same thing
