I think no matter what devices you use, you've nailed down the most important part of things which is using apps and services that are flexible, and can be easily used on another platform.

I knew that eventually it'd probably matter what devices I used, I just didn't expect it to be so soon.

But yeah, I could reasonably use an iphone without impact for the foreseeable future with some small changes.
