Android apps are binary blobs of dalvik bytecode, yet simply blocking a bunch of domains at the DNS level is surprisingly effective to get rid of most ads.

Hopefully we can get enough people into decentralized, ad-free social media ecosystems before this is a problem.

But, really, the problem is the vulture capitalists who can't conceive of building anything, only exploiting everything.
