Internet backbone providers are monitoring ports popularly used by VPN providers and performing deep packet inspection to rate limit or entirely cut off traffic sent via VPN.

This prevents the use of VPNs and makes it far easier for three letter agencies to illegally surveil you and record everything you do online.
