I am taking up masters(Materials Science) after a spell in Corporate. I was really hoping to go into research and academia. This is quite disappointing to hear. Then again, it helps to remove any expectations that any field would be devoid of politics in general. Bit relieved to be disillusioned now, rather than much later.
