My favorite thing about it is its scary-good ability to speed up podcasts. I hear very few artifacts at 1.4x. It has a feature to remove micro-silences. Between the two it makes everybody sound peppier without sounding off. It allows me to listen to almost 20 hours of podcasts per week, in ~12 hours.
I suppose it might be nice to have an auto-discovery feature for skipping intros and outros. PocketCasts has a somewhat cumbersome "Skip first N seconds". I can't imagine how you'd really solve that perfectly, but at least some podcasts have a fairly reliable intro whose length could be crowdsourced. It's not a huge deal, but you asked.
I'd like a more prominent, better way to support podcasts. I support podcasts via Patreon, but that often involves googling or memorizing URLs. It would be nice if the donate links could be scraped (from the RSS feed, web page, etc.) and even connected to a button in the app. More people might pay a buck an episode (or a buck a month) if that were made trivial to do.
The biggest thing it seems to be lacking is support for password-protected podcasts. They seem quite clear about it, and don't seem to want to support it: https://support.pocketcasts.com/article/password-protected-p...

Podcast Index is working on a ton of new RSS tags - the group could certainly do with a great app to show some of them off!
