The reason why some of the largest ever companies in the world have sleep pods at work is because there's a direct relationship between sleep and performance.

And well being / health in general

But sleep must be contiguous, nap power (20 minutes) are effective only if your employee doesn't have a healthy sleep schedule
20 minutes is plenty to perk you up in the afternoon (different parts of the brain rest in different ways), and it's not a sign of an unhealthy sleep schedule. This stigma has got to stop.
Only if you have bad sleep schedule. Or bad sleep out of your control (eg apnea). Or insomnia. Or DPSD. Or a chronic condition. Or ADHD. Or...
Many people are in at least one of the bins that benefit from naps.
Have a chronic illness. Can’t make it 8 hours through a day.
Laying down 20-40 minutes is enough to be effective in the afternoon.
My choices are work from home and a daily “long lunch” or be homeless.
Illness and physiological issues are obviously an exception, no?
One would think, except managers don’t care. If you can’t fully recover in a couple of weeks they start looking for reasons to get rid of you.
You learn to hide symptoms as best as possible. Be antisocial on bad days so people Don’t notice how much your struggling.

This is very true. For me I have found staying away from HFCS after 6:30, and eating very light. Staying away from anything with caffeine in it for the same time too. Getting to sleep at the same time every night. My diet played a large part of my sleeping well. I have asked others in my family to try the same thing and they have seen similar results. The caffeine bit was a big one. Its effects linger for a long time even though you get little to no benefit from it.
