Please see this[1] great resource from Daniel Roschka for what works and doesn't on the various macs out there.

More often than not 2.4ghz wifi will work, but 5 ghz will not. Additionally, restore from sleep is still an issue.

In short you'd likely be better off selling the mac and buying a thinkpad.
