Re:Worlds More Habitable Than Earth? They're Out There on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @04:28PM (#50078223)
As far as I’m aware, the science at the moment says that we cannot reproduce in space, so unless we send embryos that are raised by the machine machines it’s likely impossible
how does this differ from superpowers or gsd or similar?
Re:The Hugging Face Hack Wasn't What It Was Cracked Up to Be on Saturday September 19, 2026 @10:08PM (#49771912)
Reads like an AI trying to downplay the severity of the situation. Very cyberpunk.
Re:I refuse to let SPICE die on Sunday September 13, 2026 @11:08AM (#49684843)
You need a HW encoder per VM, which means vGPU/SR-IOV for anything multi-tenant. But it would work similar to qemu-rdp (which is a better codebase and really, the successor to SPICE): -display dbus can get the framebuffer to any external process, so a Moonlight-protocol server could attach there. Nobody's done it that I can find.

I found this, but I've not tested it. https://github.com/Ching367436/spice-mac

The lack of a decent SPICE client for mac is disappointing, it’s one if my greatest proxmox frustrations

Edit: great work on this fork, by the way.

Re:Using the Epson Perfection V39 II Scanner on Ubuntu on Saturday June 13, 2026 @04:45PM (#48521261)
i think things like google drive scan to document with a camera phone is good enough for most people, no need for another device.
I agree, slop is annoying because it’s not good. When it gets good i don’t mind, as long as it is accurate.
Re:Yggdrasil Network on Thursday April 02, 2026 @03:30PM (#47619075)
it’s been “new” fir as long as i have known about it, over 5 years or so? or is this a different thing?
Just use one of the distilled claude clones instead https://x.com/0xsero/status/2038021723719688266?s=46
Re:The AI Industry Is Lying to You on Tuesday March 24, 2026 @02:47PM (#47507351)
It’s supply and demand, as long as the demand is there the numbers can be maintained

Re:Reversing memory loss via gut-brain communication on Friday March 13, 2026 @12:03AM (#47360560)
i guess in that case, washing woth soap everyday is probably a negative factor?

Re:Photopea-Online Photo Editor on Friday February 20, 2026 @02:32PM (#47092742)
NB This is a solo dev effort.

At least have an accessibility option to enable them again…
Re:Poor Deming never stood a chance on Tuesday February 17, 2026 @09:55AM (#47048150)
The line worker has a canny instinct for the right answer long before the statistics are significant though.

Kinda what Gladwell talks about in Blink

Re:Werewolf Vflex Adapter Review on Monday February 09, 2026 @10:01PM (#46954817)
This reads like an AI submarine marketing area.

This reads like google home speaks
Re:Bitcoin gets a zero price target in wake of Burry warning on Thursday February 05, 2026 @10:41PM (#46908812)
I have no idea if it’s true, but i did see some estimates that the visa and mastercard systems also use the same order of magnitude of energy.

Re:Bye Bye Gmail on Sunday January 25, 2026 @12:58PM (#46756361)
Google Workspace + Microsoft 365 together around 95% of hosted corporate seats.

Total people using email (2024–2025): about 4.5–4.6 billion.

Google (Gmail consumer + Google Workspace): ≈3.0 billion active users/mailboxes.

numbers from perplexity, but probably good enough for casual conversation

Re:Bye Bye Gmail on Sunday January 25, 2026 @12:44PM (#46756222)
I think it’s more about picking your battles.

I don’t use google oauth, prefer user pass and email

I use google for email and docs, it’s convenient. i use my own domain though, and i backup my data nightly.

I feel like i have de-risked the relationship as much as is reasonable and am happy to move if i have to with minimal data or access loss (time to restore all data somewhere may be a bit of an issue, but there are workarounds)

Re:Bye Bye Gmail on Saturday January 24, 2026 @10:35PM (#46750435)
google hosts 1/4 of all emails. They will probably have most of your email anyway
Re:We X-Rayed a Suspicious FTDI USB Cable on Saturday January 24, 2026 @10:32PM (#46750419)
My apple thunderbolt 4 cable has a computer more powerful than my firs computer in it (ARM Cortex‑M0 core running at up to 48 MHz vs a 286 at 25mhz)
Re:30 Years of ReactOS on Thursday January 22, 2026 @10:44PM (#46728152)
