Trying not to be too negative, but I don’t really see what’s of interest here? Strikes me as a lot of fuss to make over illustrating a blog post.
“Illustrations help me tell stories and communicate with my readers” is great and all, but going from there to “I’ve invented a new medium of storytelling” is a bit rich.

Thanks for the effort to share your experience! Though, I don't know, if this is the guide how to tell the story- it did not work for me at all. I could not focus on the outcome as was distracted with the ultimately long mix of images containing text and blocks of text.
I prefer to consume stories either from pictures/slides only, or from a structured article with text, containing text-less images (or diagrams at worst), but this was too much.

Probably there are things to learn from this article. However, I could not really find the red thread from this. This might be my fault, as I tend to scan the whole document with speed before investing my time on it.
The visuals were confusing as it was not always clear if they were part of an example story or explanation of the articles ideas.

I also had a difficulty following the story as the rest of the commenters above. My feeling is that this was caused by how text and the images were combined to tell the story. Images contain too much information and tend to make me focus on them instead of the text outside them, so I was ending up missing part of the information. I find visual storytelling interesting as a concept but probably it needs an approach similar to comics? The visual part is dominant and the textual part of the story is embedded to it, so it's easier to follow.

Words all have uncertainty baked into them, as do the interpreting of pictures.. but when you use different media to reinforce each other, it seems to greatly help.
I like the fact that as I got the point, I found I could skip the details, just read the headlines, and look at the pictures... and then slow down if there were something import and read the text again.

Maybe it's a bad moment for Medium but I'm getting unresponsive script dialogs, unloaded images or even bad gateway errors. Hopefully they're not because of this very post or are they? I'll check again later.

But I hope it will find its audience. Good luck!

I just assumed the author was older than 5, but felt that their tantrum was embarassing for their actual age so aged it down.
Plausible Storytelling is also a powerful tool.
I don't think this happened.

The loading times, though... they suck.
