Why should the SEC protect those not doing due diligence at the expense of those who want liquidity of their assets?

Zoom Inc. hasn’t filed any public information for 5 years; I assume that means things like quarterly financial reports. That seems like enough grounds for delisting to me, quite separately from possible confusion with Zoom Video.

Ah! I was under the impression this was a legitimate company that deserved to be traded. It sounds like it absolutely should be delisted.

Well, I know some funds (well, one) that deliberately purchase companies that sound similar on news events, even if the news has nothing to do with that particular company. The idea being that someone is going to buy it because they are stupid, but I am smart, so I'm going to buy it first. I've always secretly hoped that no one is confused, and that everyone thinks there's a greater fool out there.

It's part of their mandate? Like, ostensibly the stock market operates for the benefit of the populace, not solely to fleece the mistaken.

Why should the FDA protect those not doing their due diligence at the expense of those who want to eat dirty food?

I appreciate your analogy. I was trying to sense if it fits for people trying to exit positions, but I ultimately decided it doesn't matter if it isn't an exact fit - the point is people deserve protection.
